Turning Point is a 12-bed residential
supportive facility for those with a serious mental illness and is staffed
24-hours daily.
Comprehensive Mental Health Services
provides 24-hour care and case management services for residents, age 18 and
older. The program fosters and promotes the most independent living possible by
broadening independent living skills through promoting psychiatric stability,
fostering socialization skills and clarifying educational/vocational
goals.
Case managers link individuals with a
variety of agency and community resources and help consumers devise individual
treatment plans. Staff provides training in a variety of areas including
personal hygiene, household and money management, meal planning and preparation,
and transportation. Staff and residents make life at Turning Point as warm and
similar to a home environment as possible. Each resident has a private room that
he/she may decorate with personal belongings.
Social activities and free time comprise a
large part of the daily routine and are balanced with day-to-day client/staff
interaction. The manager and case manager meet weekly to discuss each resident’s
needs and progress toward the goal of becoming active, productive and successful
community members.
