GATEWAY
Gateway is a 15-bed residential facility,
supportive of male adults who have substance abuse disorders and may be homeless
and/or have mental health issues.
The facility was renovated with a HUD
grant in 1999. The program provides a supervised supportive living environment
for individuals in recovery from substance abuse who may be homeless. Clients
with chemical addiction stay approximately 30 days, although the stay may be
extended if the client has no drug-free living environment to which they can
return. Clients receive substance abuse and mental health treatment and life
skills training as well as education about relapse
prevention.
Goals for homeless clients include, acquisition of safe and chemically-free housing, participation in relapse prevention, life skills groups and support groups, finding employment and building a financial foundation
