MAIN CENTER For over 35 years, Comprehensive Mental Health
Services, Inc. has been serving the mental health needs of eastern Jackson
County communities. Beginning in 1969 as Independence Area Mental Health
Center, then Northeastern Jackson County Mental Health, the name
Comprehensive Mental Health Services was adopted in 1981.The move to the
present building was made in 1979. CMHS is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3),
community mental health center serving the needs of eastern Jackson County
residents. Services at the main center include outpatient and medication clinic,
addiction recovery services, family and children's services and
administrative services. Operating with a budget of nearly $10
million, CMHS employs some 200 staff and serves approximately 4,000 clients
annually. CMHS is certified by the Missouri Department
of Mental Health. |
