Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Inc. (CMHS) now provides mental health services for the students attending the Metropolitan Community College at Blue River.

There are times in everyone’s life when personal problems and challenges interfere with the healthy enjoyment of life.  CMHS is here to assist MCC-BR students in coping with depression, anger management, trauma, grief/loss, irregular mood, and other life circumstances.   

Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Inc. (CMHS) is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.  CMHS provides services, without regard to religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

Your right to privacy and confidentiality is protected and required by law, unless you, your legal counsel,  legal guardian waives those rights, through written permission, on your behalf or as required by state and federal law.

If you qualify, you may receive free, on-campus services from CMHS. These services include: Assessment, Treatment Planning, and Therapeutic Counseling sessions. You may also be eligible for other services that CMHS provides off-campus.  These services include: Community Support/Case Management, Psychiatric/Medication Clinic and Treatment for Addictions.

Your Information will be transmitted directly to our staff at CMHS.  You will receive a phone call, or an e-mail response that will result in a brief phone assessment to determine urgency and a scheduled appointment if you qualify for services. 

You will qualify for FREE services if you are a resident of Jackson County and have no other way to pay for services.   We do accept some private insurance and we have a sliding fee scale based on income for those that wish to self-pay.

We will ask for the information included on the Referral Form that is attached.  If you qualify, we will schedule an appointment with the therapist.
